David A. Tieche is a teaching pastor at WestGate Church, a large, multi-campus, multi-ethnic congregation in San Jose, CA.
A former high school English teacher, David is known for his skill at making the Bible come alive, his sense of humor and his ability to weave in references to 90s hip-hop into any subject imaginable.
David lives in the Bay Area with his wife, Nicole, his two children Justus (18) and Jaelle (16), and their Westie, Jack-Jack.

David is the co-author of the best-selling books The Grown-ups Guide to Teenage Humans (HarperCollins) with Josh Shipp and I Take My Coffee Black with Tyler Merritt (Worthy Publishing). He’s also the co-author of Abraham: A Field Guide to Loving God co-written with Dr. Gerry Breshears (of the Bible Project and Western Seminary) and of the forthcoming book This Changes Everything with Tyler Merritt (Worthy Publishing, 2025).
